Division Programs & Projects
The Ballarat and District Division of General Practice is responsible for a range of innovative programs for the purpose of promoting and enhancing the role of General Practice.

Central Highlands Primary Care Partnership
The alliance has been formed in response to the Victoria Department of Human Services Primary Care Partnership policy. BDDGP plays a key role in the CHPCP Alliance, representing the interests of GPs. This program includes participation in the Foothold on Safety, Falls Prevention Program. Contact Andrew Howard.

Community Consultation Strategy
To promote consumer engagement and input into program development and to provide feedback and discussion about current issues. Contact Andrew Howard.
EDQUM
A trial project designed to encourage prescribing practices that improve standards of patient care. Developing Division-level capacity for population health data collection, analysis and application.
GP Training
Participation in the Victoria Felix Medical Education to manage the delivery of General Practice vocational training in the region. Registrars are able to undertake all their GP training within the region, from hospital terms, basic and advanced GP terms and Advanced Rural Skills posts. Contact Angela Aldred.
Hospital Admission Risk Program (HARP)
To work in collaboration with Ballarat Health Services to improve the health outcomes for patients with COPD and CHF. Contact Gabrielle Fraser.
Research, Evaluation & Development (RED)
To maximise the Divisions organisational capacity and decision-making, through promoting staff involvement in research, evaluation and development activities. Contact Gabrielle Fraser.

Ballarat and District Pharmacy Alliance (BDPA)
Engaging local Pharmacists and General Practitioners in Quality use of Medicines (QuM) activities and projects designed to improve population and community health outcomes.
After Hours Primary Medical Care
A comprehensive study of the provision of quality After Hours medical care in the Ballarat area.
IT Help Desk
Providing direct technical support service to GPs and practice staff. BDDGP acts as support and information broker regarding hardware and software purchase and installation.
MediConnect Field Test (completed December 2004)
The MediConnect project will trial a secure national electronic system designed to help improve quality and safety in the way medicines are managed. Contact Michelle MacGillivray on 5331 6303.
Men's Health
Encouraging increased participation of men in matters of health & wellbeing.
New Drug Enhancement Program
Enhances GP understanding of the issues around the selection (or not) of new drugs and the evaluation process for PBS listing.
