Infection Control
Infection control and sterilisation procedures are a requirement for General Practice Accreditation. These documents are updated from time to time as required.
A sample infection control manual is available upon request. Please contact Michelle MacGillivray at the Division to obtain a copy of the manual.
I recommend that practices purchase a copy of the RACGP Infection Control Standards for Office Based Practices 4th edition.
Also check out DoHA's infection control guidelines (2004) and the blue book: guidelines for the control of infectious diseases (June 2005).
The new instrument processing standards are in the April 2006 MARJEN newsletter
