Workforce Snapshots
Angela Aldred June 08
The 2007 RWAV GP and Practice Survey results confirm that the Division's GP workforce is ageing (average 49.9 years, compared with 49.5 years, Rural Victorian average). One third of GPs in BDDGP and the other rural Divisions hope to reduce their hours or retire within the next 5 years.
Each September RWAV conducts a GP and practice workforce survey. The results of the latest survey, published in November 2007 have been compiled into snapshots of the GP workforce in BDDGP and in all rural victorian divisions. The BDDGP results were compiled from responses from 54 of the 105 GPs working in BDDGP, and 19 of the 27 practices in the Division.
