Research on Partner Abuse

GPs are being recruited to assist with the University of Melbourne’s partner abuse trial, the WEAVE project.

This NH&MRC project is designed to examine ways of improving care for women experiencing partner abuse. Partner abuse is the highest cause of morbidity and mortality for women under 45. Full-time GPs may see up to five women in this situation each week.

The research is being conducted by Primary Care Research Unit in the Department of General Practice.

This is a randomised project and only one GP from each practice will be eligible to take part. If you have been selected to participate the Division urges you to contribute to this research. Contact Lorna on 03-8344-3369 for further information.
